What You’ll Do

Our Warranty Technician plays a critical role in supporting our warranty watchmaking team. They support the company in post-sale customer satisfaction through the warranty programs. This role is a great chance to be trained in the horology space and work alongside some of the industry’s best certified watchmakers. The right person will make a large impact on our team and see growth opportunities that can be applied towards a potential certification in the industry.

In this role, you will:

•Receive watches for diagnosis (check serial numbers, create authentications, etc.)
•Basic verification and diagnostic of warranty claims
•Creation of estimates for pre-owned warranty claims
•Perform internal QC checks on all warranty watches that are ready to send back to the client to ensure no other issues are present
•Cleaning and pressure testing watches as needed
•Basic data entry of watch specifications and test results
•Work with sales and the Warranty Watchmaker to provide updates regarding warranty status when requested by clients
•Regularly communicating with internal teams, especially regarding deadlines and delays
•Handling approvals, payment, and status updates from the manufacturers for warranty watches
•Performing simple repairs ranging from laser welding to automatic cleaning
•Maintaining a high standard of professionalism and quality
•Maintaining knowledge of proper and safe use for cleaning chemicals and machinery
•Remaining cognizant of and abiding by all of Hodinkee’s security and safety requirements

Education/Work Experience

•High school diploma or GED required
•Mechanical aptitude with strong desire to learn
•Basic computer knowledge
•Moderate proficiency with Google Sheets and Docs a plus
•Technical experience in the watch and/or jewelry industries preferred, but not required
•Strong attention to detail, focus, and acuity
•Clear and consistent communication skills
•Basic understanding of estimation
•Industry recognized certifications (WOSTEP, SAWTA, AWCI training, etc.) a big plus
