Bench Jeweler

Reis-Nichols has an opening for a Bench Jeweler to join our team. Our company’s roots are in manufacturing, and our bench jewelers are among the best in the business with over 250 years of combined experience.

About the Job:

•Setting, sizing, repairing, cleaning and polishing jewelry
•Ensures precious metal recovery procedures are followed (hard scrap, filings, sweeps, etc.)
•Maintains a level of quality and turn-around time acceptable to company and client standards
•Well qualified candidates may participate in creating unique custom pieces
•Adheres to all safety procedures to reduce the risk of injury or accidents
•Other duties as assigned

This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. Typical work hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30-5. Weekends and longer work hours will be expected during peak times.

•Chain and clasp repair
•Re-tipping prongs
•Setting stones
•Creating stone mounts
•Performing channel and platinum rebuilds
•Performing minor ring repair and other jewelry repairs
•Wax carving
•Fabrication
•Casting
•Custom design and creation of pieces
•Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude
•Attention to detail & strong accuracy
•Excellent time management & attention to deadlines

Requirements:

•3-5 years’ experience with custom repairs
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Applicants must be currently authorized to work’ in the United States on a full-time basis

Special Consideration Given to Applicants With:

•Certification/graduation in a bench jeweler program

Physical Demands:

•Requires excellent vision and dexterity to handle small stones and objects
•Requires the ability to concentrate on small objects for long periods of time
•Requires extended hours of sitting, standing and use of tools
