Summary

The Bench Jeweler is primarily responsible for polishing, cleaning, performing QC, plating, and completing final prep work on precious metal keepsakes. This is a fast-paced, micro-manufacturing environment, as multiple orders are received and processed daily. The Bench Jeweler will be expected to work quickly and efficiently with an eye for detail. Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Polish, clean, plate, and final prep precious metals based on workflow assignment, customer specifications, and established company guidelines

• Team daily target goals and individual performance times must be met or exceeded

• Repair jewelry, resize rings, set stones, laser weld, and anneal

• Inspect precious metal pieces from vendors to meet product specifications and company standards

• Perform quality control checks on custom order keepsakes

• Order Jeweler supplies

• Ensures pieces are distributed to assembling area by expected ship dates

• Assist in testing the final finish of new products

• Compliance with standard operating procedures to perform the functions of the job

• Perform cleaning and maintenance to keep equipment at peak operating performance

• Perform daily shutdown procedures

• Gain full knowledge of functions of the automated Fulfillment system to perform daily tasks

• Advise Production Supervisor or Manager of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to orders

• Represent the department and the organization favorably and in accordance with Company standards and associate attributes at all times

• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Metals and Jewelry, Fine Arts, or equivalent work-related experience

• Experience in jewelry repairs, stone settings, and laser welding a plus

• Minimum 1 year of bench jeweler experience

• Knowledge of jeweler’s tools, machinery, and equipment

• Active position which requires standing, walking, and bending

• Proficiency using computers, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Word, and Excel

• Customer service focused and professional attitude

• Ability to solve problems, prioritize, multi-task, and take direction

• Ability to work in a team environment and interact closely with team members

• Work under limited supervision

• Goal-oriented, with exceptional time management and organizational skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• High-level attention to detail
