WANTED! SUPER-QUALIFIED WATCHMAKER, AND JUNIOR WATCHMAKER
For a new service centre for fine watches opening soon in Bedfordshire. Attractive packages and manufacturer training as required.
Our client is a relatively new business that has secured contracts to provide Watchmaking After-sales Support Services for a number of highly desirable Swiss marques.
Their Master Watchmaker (who is also the business owner) has an enviable track record on the watchmaker’s bench here in the UK, working with a very famous industry brand. The challenge going forward is to grow the capability of the business by employing similarly proud and industrious colleagues to help deliver his vision of a new Service Centre for fine watches.
As a new venture, the workshop has been beautifully equipped with every tool you could wish for, to match each brand’s after sales service needs. The operating environment exceeds the level of many in-house watch repair servicing departments, and the intention is always to maintain that positive point of difference.
Two exciting opportunities will present themselves early in 2017: one for an already super-qualified Watchmaker; the other a more junior position suitable for a technician at an early stage in their career with masses of potential and a desire to improve his/her capabilities in this luxury field.
The senior role requires an experienced and accredited Watchmaker with the competence and confidence to tackle some of our industry’s most complicated mechanical movements, such as Chronographs, Perpetual Calendars, Minute Repeaters and Tourbillon Watches, to name but a few. Relationships with the brands represented by our client are so good that training can easily be accessed where required; and of course the business owner is a recognised industry high flyer who can be leant on daily to provide guidance and coaching as and when required.
The Junior Watchmaker will start off by tackling the most frequently-occurring requirements, such as mid-range ETA movements and performing battery changes and re-seals to perfection, time after time. The intention is to upskill this appointee continuously, thus providing an opportunity for a talented basic watch technician to benefit from technical training at a rapid pace, enabling him/her to rise to ever greater challenges, as well as enhanced remuneration in line with their increasing skills and achievements. Supervision, guidance and training advice will be constantly on tap on-the-job, underpinned and supplemented by regular brand owner sponsored formal training.
Joining this business in its early stages will be exciting; the aspiration to match and exceed Bond Street standards should be hugely inspiring, and the prospect of learning from this prestigious business owner and building close relationships with a select few internationally-famous horological brand greats, should have you reaching for your CV without further ado.
When applying, please indicate which role you wish to be considered for, and an immediate response will be forthcoming from the team at JML.
