The Role:
The ideal bench jeweler is good with their hands and has a keen eye for detail. They don’t mind repetitive work, and can handle some work that is physically demanding (hammering, especially). They can manage their production schedule (can make a run of a design from start through finish), are reliable and flexible, too. They don’t mind handing things off with other smiths as needed or pausing everything for the occasional group project. Smiths need to have comfort with large chunks of the LSJ catalog, but might specialize in a specific segment. They must be able to balance speed and perfection in their work, while still being very consistent.
There is the possibility for other responsibilities including:
Order fulfillment
Design work
Customer service
Wholesale account management
Social media management
Photography/content creation

Lotus Stone Jewelry is a quickly growing fashion jewelry line based in Phoenix, AZ. We specialize in minimalist, personalized and custom-sized designs that are hand fabricated in sterling silver and gold filled.

Compensation, schedules, etc.:
Part-time and full-time schedules are available. The daily schedule is flexible and remote work is a possibility after a proving period. Pay starts at $15 (depending on experience and performance).
Metalsmithing experience strongly encouraged. Comfort with tools, maintaining an organized workspace, and safety in a shared making space required. Key skills include: measuring and cutting metal quickly and accurately, soldering, basic stone setting, polishing and grinding with flex shaft, hammering and sawing.
