Full Job Description
Treiber & Straub Jewelers is seeking a creative, talented bench jeweler who is looking to oversee our on-site repair facility. The position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and exceptional at meeting deadlines. Candidates must have excellent problem solving and communication skills, as they will be working with customers to provide expert repair assessments and design counsel.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Previous bench jewelry experience, minimum of 5 years or trade school equivalent
•Torch work, including soldering and laser welding
•Knowledge of working with gold, platinum, and silver
•Polishing and rhodium plating
•Wax carving
•Stone setting
•Excellent customer service
•Basic computer skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Deliver exceptional customer service and meet on-time delivery requirements.
•Work professionally with staff as well as management, store personnel and customers.
•Perform quality cuts and shape metal into jewelry piecing by utilizing the latest cutting and carving tools/techniques.
•Execute basic jewelry repairs including, but not limited to chain repair, ring sizing, stone setting, welding and soldering.
•Use various hand and powered tools to grind and polish metal; ability to restore jewelry to like new condition.
•Utilize various liquid solutions for cleaning/plating metal and stones.
•Ensure merchandise is properly maintained and stored.
•Maintain and request tools and supplies, as necessary.
Continually pursue personal and store improvement and development by learning, sharing and updating yourself on new and more effective jeweler skills, processes and trends.
