Responsibilities

•Communicate to guests on the repair, engraving, and debossing process to ensure all guests understand the turnaround time.

•Replace watch batteries and perform testing to ensure Shinola quality standards are upheld.

•Work with engraving machines to position jewelry and navigate software to enter the correct settings and characters to engrave.

•Utilize debossing machines to personalize journals and leather products.

•Learn repair and quality control best practices, and when applicable, raise issues and suggested course of action to ensure the highest levels of quality are maintained.

•Ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner and tracked accurately.

•Operate all machines with little assistance, following the recommended safety precautions.

•Troubleshoot the machines and perform light repairs where possible. Coordinate higher level maintenance as needed.

•Plan/replenish supplies in a timely manner.

•Maintain all departmental standards for timeliness and quality.

 

Qualifications

•High School diploma or equivalent required.

•Ability to see details at close range. Able to notice tiny defects: scratches, spots, rust, lint, hair, tarnished metal, dents, deformations, marks on pieces the size of a quarter or smaller.

•Ability to learn and operate various machines including engraving, watch repair, and debossing machines.

•Previous experience in the watch industry and/or engraving jewelry a plus.
