Don’t close up shop just yet: according to a recent survey of young consumers (18-25), real stores are still preferred to online shopping for things like apparel and shoes… by a whopping 68%.

 

Among other things, these young consumers like to be able to come in, look at, and then try on a pair of shoes, a bracelet, or a pair of jeans before purchasing… something that you can’t do if you are solely shopping online. So, despite the claims that Facebook and Twitter are the next big shopping centers, you’ll have to convince the Internet generation that it’s the way they want to shop for special and personal gifts before that can happen.
