This lot contains the contents of a New York Watch Parts Material Supply House including “MASTER BESTFIT SYSTEM” This is not just a few Bestfit cabinets. This is the MASTER BESTFIT system supplied to material houses around the USA 90 years ago. This is the Master best Fit system with the all-important multi-drawer card system for searching watch parts. This is a multi-cabinet large system containing tens of thousands of inventoried parts. We see all makes and parts. We even see Omega and LeCoultre and all the Swiss Factories. The inventoried card system is an alphabetical system for searching for most wristwatch and some pocket watch parts.
There are many factory repair cabinet. There is an amazing Elgin early wood parts cabinet. The load also includes the pocket watch and wristwatch glass and plastic crystal inventory found in the material house. There are hundreds of thousands of crystals. They include GS, SUC and thousands and a few cabinets of pocket watch glass crystals. There are many inventoried genuine factory cabinets and simply too much material to list. The master BESTFIT system alone is a real find. The inventory and cabinets fill a full 10 x 20 storage building to the ceiling and ½ of a 10 by 20 storage building stacked to the ceiling. This material house was being operated at the time it was purchased.
Illness in the family forced the sale of the material house and the move of the material to the State of New Hampshire. There is so much material it is impossible to list. .
